Market News

Foodies,

The market is now open – if you’d like to order produce, go ahead and place your orders online till 11pm Monday night! If you would like to order special items, i.e. not a box, please put your order in ASAP!

We have brought on a few new, either certified USDA Organic or organic methods, farms – Rabbits Etc uses organic methods in Masaryktown; Geraldson Farm , a USDA organic farm out of Sarasota; as well as Windmill farms, a small backyard organic permaculture operation out of Plant City.

There are some really good items from all – from eggs to kale to tomatoes!

We try to find the most honest farmers with the healthiest & freshest food for the club as we build into an Food Cooperative.
We’d really appreciate your input on anything and everything regarding the buying club- this is a cooperative and is therefore, to be democratically managed by members, AKA partial owners. We want to build community so please, give us feedback so that we can perform better and have a strong backing when we file for nonprofit cooperative status with the state!

We’re also thinking of having a potluck and documentary night, so let us know what night would work for you. Like our Facebook page

As for items from certain farmers (Windmill, Morning Star, etc.), if there is not enough product ordered, it doesn’t always make financial sense for us to drive an hour or two to pick it up. We’ll try to communicate better with members when this happens but just wanted to give everybody a heads up.

Check out some great upcoming events down below!

Email us if you have any questions.

The boxes are now hand-selected by the customer/member instead of pre-packaged. This means the earlier you come, the more selection you’ll have for your box! Please bring your own box or reusable bag as we are running low at the coop. Also, if you have any to donate, it would be greatly appreciated.

Farm Spotlight

Sunny Spot Gardens

Brittany and Ronald Hickmans’ boring urban lot got a facelift 4 years ago when they moved into their new home on a 1/5 an acre in North Tampa. They removed grass, cleared weeds, turned dirt and started sowing the seeds of their future. Planting fruit trees, growing fruits and veggies, raising chickens and trying their hand at other farm feathered friends this little family turned their lot into a food paradise, now they share their talent with others, selling herbs, jams, and other goods. They have held numerous events engaging and teaching the community- with potlucks, guest speakers, and garden tours. Their next event will be on May 5th, International Permaculture Day!
